Here is a really simple guide to get your Apache web server on the raspberry pi.
Open up a terminal on your raspberry pi, either through the user interface or by connecting to it through ssh.
Update your Raspberry Pi
- sudo apt-get update
- sudo apt-get upgrade
Install Apache Web Server
- sudo apt-get install apache2
If you also want to use php and mysql you can also install them with the following commands:
- sudo apt-get install php5
- sudo apt-get install php5-mysql
You may need to restart the apache webserver after these commands. (sudo service apache2 restart).
You can check your web server is running by browsing to your raspberry pi’s IP address in a web browser. You should get a page like the one shown below:
You can edit this web page be editing the index.html in /var/www/ on your raspberry pi.
Note: You may want to change permissions on the folder if you plan on doing a bit of web development for your web server on the raspberry pi.
